Jasmeen Bassi

Research Assistant

Jasmeen Bassi is a Juris Doctor candidate at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law. She recently completed a summer placement with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, supporting litigation and advocacy on issues related to fundamental freedoms, privacy, and surveillance.

She currently serves as a Research Assistant at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP, where she examines the interpretation of UNDRIP principles across jurisdictions. As Workshop Coordinator for the Vulnerability, Inequality & Justice Workshop at the University of British Columbia, she manages logistics and facilitates engagement among scholars across institutions.

Her earlier research at METRAC focused on the privacy rights of survivors in intimate partner violence cases, while her graduate work on media, identity, and nation-building was featured in the 1984: Path of the Warrior Saints exhibition and later presented at Stanford University.
