Dr. Oghenowede Eyawo

Associate Professor

Dr. Oghenowede Eyawo is a global health epidemiologist and Associate Professor at York University whose work bridges infectious disease modeling, health equity, and global health governance.

His research focuses on HIV, tuberculosis, AMR, and pandemic preparedness, emphasizing evidence-to-policy translation in Africa and the Global South.

He has led and co-led multi-country, interdisciplinary projects funded by CIHR, NIH, and PHAC, advancing equitable and data-driven approaches to health systems strengthening.

A recognized scholar and mentor, he contributes to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) studies and serves on community health boards in Canada.

His work integrates epidemiology, ethics, and implementation science to inform sustainable and inclusive public health policy.
